In the heart of the Sonoran desert, Kate’s Magik creates intent-based essential oil blends, natural perfumes and aromatic products from complex combinations of aromatherapy-grade essential oils and all-natural, quality ingredients. Kate Becker, a therapeutic perfumer, started Kate’s Magik in 2002 to help people clarify needs and make positive changes by uniting the power of intention with the beautiful aromas of the earth's healing plants. Kate’s lines of Reiki-charged products include Anointing Oils, Aura Mists, Massage Oils, Body Perfume Oils, Diffuser Oils, Element-Inspired Aromatherapy Body Lotions, Sacred Perfume Roll-ons, Divine Scents, Ritual Baths, Banditos, Kate’s essential oil-based natural defense line and Rose Medicine, Kate’s supportive, heart awakening line. The Bastet Perfume Society is high-end natural perfumes created with rare and costly essences.
Kate's Magik operates independently and controls its entire manufacturing process. Each product is lovingly crafted with human hands at their production facility in historic downtown Tucson. The entire Kate’s Magik team is Reiki certified and the production magicians (those who blend the synergy into the carrier medium) conduct a purification and sacred intention ritual that includes a crystal singing bowl on every batch produced. Music is selected and played during the filling process based on the intention of the product.
Kate remains active in daily operations and still blends the many of the essential oil synergies herself. She personally selects every component by quality, scent and vibration. She is proud to have had the opportunity to create healing tools and beautiful aromas that enrich people’s lives and continues to develop new products that contribute to the overall well being of this planet by helping people help themselves.
Kate was born in the late 60s in San Francisco, CA to a New Yorker father and a Swiss mother. For her first 7 years, she lived in her dad’s hometown, New York City, and after her parents divorce moved to Bern, Switzerland with her mother. At 15 she went back over the Atlantic to attend highschool and live with her Dad and his new family in Toronto, Canada. At a young age, Kate began to learn and practice alternative healing techniques as she was battling various illnesses due to being a sensitive child. At 13, after countless rounds of antibiotics and a few surgeries, she turned to holistic medicine with the help of her mother.. This discovery helped improve her well-being and opened the door to spiritual practice and a vocation in the healing arts. Kate became a certified Reiki practitioner as a teenager and later graduated as a Reiki Master Teacher. With devotion, practice and the help of great mentors and teachers, she began to practice various healing modalities and found miracles in intention-based work which later became the cornerstone of Kate’s Magik products.
After high-school Kate went to Film-school, but ended up leaving it to travel the world with her partner at the time and settling for a couple of years in the Bay Islands of Honduras, where she found much solace from the magik of the Caribbean, free-diving, and healing her soul. In 1993 she was ready to begin “proper adulting” and moved back to be with her family in her beloved New York City. Here, over the coming years, she continued her studies of energy medicine, practiced A Course in Miracles and did deep healing with inner child work. In addition she trained as a Jazz vocalist, became a singer-songwriter and started performing on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. During this time she also started a practice of spiritual coaching. Kate has released three albums to date and strongly believes in the power of music as medicine for the soul.
After moving to Tucson, Kate developed an approach that unites Energy Work (Reiki) with the combination of medicinal plants (Essential Oils) and the power of the mind (Intention). She sought to create products made from Pure Essential Oil Blends to aid people facing everyday challenges: overcoming fear, sadness or insecurity; conquering bad habits or addictions; re-instilling confidence and trust, enhancing joy, sensuality and success.
Kate has a deep connection to the Ancient Egyptian Art of Perfuming and most of what she creates is conjured from that era where oil creations were used for all aspects of human’s needs - healing, prayer, devotion, purification, protection, sensuality and initiations and ceremonies of all kinds.
To stay spiritually attuned Kate takes a yearly pilgrimage to Egypt and Avalon, now also offering “by invitation-only” group travel to these sacred sites.
